How to measure

Custom glass is cut to the sizes you enter and can't be returned, so measure twice. A steel tape measure works best.

  1. Measure the width in three places

Measure across the top, the middle and the bottom. Walls and openings are rarely square, so write down the smallest of the three.

    TopMiddleBottomUse the smallest
  2. Measure the height in three places

Measure the left side, the middle and the right side. Write down the smallest.

  3. Read the tape to the 1/16 inch

Each inch on a tape is split into 16 marks. The longest mark in the middle is 1/2. Count the marks past the last whole inch: six marks is 6/16, which is 3/8.

  4. Enter width first, then height

In the builder, type the whole inches and pick the fraction next to it. The builder says your size back in words, like "24 3/8 by 36 inches", so you can check it against your notes.

  5. Check the drawing before you pay

At checkout you see a drawing of your piece with its sizes, and you confirm you measured twice. If a size turns out wrong after you order, you can fix it free for 1 hour from your order page.

Going into a frame, track or opening?

Order the size the frame or track needs, not the size of the opening. If you're not sure how much smaller to go, call us at (772) 486-7711 before you order.
